From April 1st 2009, cars without 'Umweltplakette' sticker are no longer allowed in the city centre. This rule also applies to foreign cars. The fine is 40€ and - for the Germans - a point at the registry in Flensburg.
If you do not have such a sticker, you might want to book a hotel outside the no-go-'Umweltzone' and use public transportation to get to the venue.

All below Hotels including the conference venue are within Umweltzone - except for the City Hostel. Mercure Hafen is close enough to the edge of the no-go-zone so you can park outside the zone and walk to the hotel.

              - that`s by far the least expensive 4* hotel in Düsseldorf right now.
              2,5km from the venue - 8 minutes by direct tram connection from the venue (2,30€ per ride). The taxi ride should be around 7€
              It`s also our suggestion in case you are coming by car and do not have a 'Umweltplakette' sticker on your car: The hotel is within the boundaries of the no-go-zone for cars without these stickers - but you could park nearby legally as it is quite close to the boundaries.
