Leadership Track
Evaluations on a personal level
On our way to evaluate speakers and speeches we learn to analyse what was done very well and how to find areas for improvement.
In this workshop we focus on two things.
- First we learn to be absolutely precise. Instead of suggesting to improve the eye contact we explain that addressing three or four sentences to one person at a time could decrease nervousness and help create connection and trust.
- Second we learn to express the impact a speech has on us. Bored, disappointed or moved to tears, we practise how to tell the speaker what happens inside of us in a supportive way and let him know, what exactly he did or did not to trigger specific emotions. Thus the speaker learns to create emotional connections, and we learn to talk about our entire response to any speaker.
The language we use in this process is positive, personal and specific, and we explain any advice or recommendation in detail.
Franz Lauterbach
Franz Lauterbach, ATM-G, has been a Toastmaster since 2001. Still on his way through the basic manual he looked for the key elements of great evaluations and then developed ideas to teach them to others.
In his professional life he had worked in the real estate business and then turned his speaking and teaching skills into his current profession. He shows people how to turn speaking anxiety and platform panic into well being and helps them release their inner speaker.
